Super Mario RPG

There's no amount of remake polish that could fix the dullness of this game. But if it's boring for me that's a good thing, I'm not who this game is for! It's for kids. If I had the chance to play the original when I was five I would have better understood my own taste, and sooner. This is a perfect primer for a future Turn-Based RPG Enjoyer. But today... what a slog. Such a good start for the kind of fun, snappy JRPG gameplay we would come to love either inspired by SMRPG or within future Mario RPGs.
